In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Heavenly Father, Almighty and Eternal God,
I come before You with humility, reverence, gratitude, and complete dependence upon Your grace. You are the Creator of heaven and earth, the Author of life, the source of every blessing, and the sovereign Lord of all that has been, all that is, and all that ever shall be. Before You, every earthly accomplishment fades, every human title becomes small, and every possession reveals itself as temporary. You alone are eternal.
Father, I acknowledge that my life belongs entirely to You.
Everything I have received has come through Your providence. Every door that has opened, every trial I have survived, every lesson I have learned, every opportunity I have received, and every moment in which I have found the strength to continue has existed beneath the shelter of Your divine will.
Today, Lord, I surrender myself anew to You.
I surrender my past, with all its victories and disappointments.
I surrender my present, with all its responsibilities, decisions, hopes, and uncertainties.
I surrender my future, including those things I can foresee and those things known only to You.
I surrender my plans, my ambitions, my work, my reputation, my possessions, my relationships, my responsibilities, and the legacy I hope one day to leave behind.
Take everything, Lord, and order it according to Your holy will.
If something I desire will bring me closer to You, bless it according to Your wisdom.
If something I desire would separate me from You, remove my attachment to it.
If a door should be opened, give me courage to walk through it.
If a door should remain closed, give me the humility not to force it.
If I must wait, give me patience.
If I must act, give me courage.
If I must speak, give me wisdom.
If I must remain silent, give me discipline.
Teach me to understand that Your timing is not negligence, Your silence is not absence, and Your providence is never defeated by circumstances.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, I place my entire life beneath the authority of Your Sacred Heart.
You are my Savior, my Redeemer, my King, my Teacher, and my hope.
Through Your Holy Cross, You conquered sin and death. Through Your Resurrection, You opened the gates of eternal life. Through Your mercy, sinners are restored, the wounded are strengthened, and those who have wandered may find their way home.
Jesus, make my heart more like Yours.
Where there is pride within me, teach me humility.
Where there is anger, give me restraint.
Where there is resentment, give me forgiveness.
Where there is anxiety, strengthen my trust.
Where there is impatience, teach me endurance.
Where there is disappointment, preserve my hope.
Where there is confusion, grant me discernment.
Where there is temptation, give me strength.
Where there is weariness, renew my spirit.
Where there is fear, remind me that You are near.
Do not allow the opinions of others to govern my peace. Do not allow praise to make me proud or criticism to make me bitter. Do not allow rejection to convince me that I have been abandoned, nor success to convince me that I have accomplished anything apart from Your grace.
Teach me to walk quietly with You.
Teach me to labor faithfully without constantly seeking recognition.
Teach me to accomplish what You place before me and allow the fruit of that work to speak in its proper season.
Teach me the holy discipline of silence, prudence, patience, discretion, and self-control.
May I never confuse visibility with significance, applause with worth, popularity with righteousness, or worldly success with divine favor.
Instead, Lord, make me faithful.
Let my character speak louder than my words.
Let integrity accompany me when no one is watching.
Let humility remain with me when I am honored.
Let gratitude remain with me when I prosper.
Let faith remain with me when I suffer.
And let charity govern how I treat every human being whom You place before me.
Holy Spirit, Divine Counselor and Sanctifier, descend upon me anew.
Illuminate my mind.
Purify my intentions.
Govern my words.
Direct my decisions.
Strengthen my conscience.
Correct me when I am wrong.
Restrain me when I am impulsive.
Encourage me when I am discouraged.
Convict me when I begin moving away from God’s will.
Give me the gift of wisdom, that I may see beyond appearances.
Give me understanding, that I may comprehend what God desires of me.
Give me counsel, that my decisions may be prudent.
Give me fortitude, that I may remain steadfast under pressure.
Give me knowledge, that I may recognize God’s hand in creation and in my life.
Give me piety, that my devotion may be sincere.
Give me holy fear of the Lord, that I may never willingly choose anything above God.
Holy Spirit, protect me especially from decisions made through anger, wounded pride, impatience, loneliness, resentment, vanity, or fear.
When emotions are strong, slow my steps.
When circumstances are unclear, deepen my prayer.
When people disappoint me, prevent bitterness from entering my heart.
When I must establish boundaries, help me establish them without hatred.
When separation becomes necessary, help me depart peacefully rather than vindictively.
When relationships reach their natural conclusion, give me grace to release them without carrying resentment into the next chapter of my life.
Father, I ask for Your divine protection over my household and over all those entrusted to my care.
Place Your hand upon our home.
Let it be a dwelling of peace.
Guard its doors.
Guard those who enter.
Guard those who leave.
Protect us from danger seen and unseen, from deception, exploitation, manipulation, malice, unnecessary conflict, and every circumstance that would disturb the peace You desire for us.
Grant us prudence in our financial affairs, wisdom in our professional affairs, discernment in our relationships, protection in our travels, and grace in our daily responsibilities.
Bless my work, Lord.
Bless every legitimate undertaking that You have entrusted to me.
May my work never become an idol. May achievement never replace holiness. May ambition never become greater than obedience. May wealth never become more important than righteousness.
Instead, allow every resource entrusted to me to become an instrument of responsible stewardship.
Teach me to build carefully.
Teach me to preserve wisely.
Teach me to give generously.
Teach me to plan patiently.
Teach me to distinguish between what is valuable and what merely appears impressive.
Grant me the wisdom to build things that endure beyond temporary praise.
If You grant prosperity, Lord, give me greater humility.
If You grant influence, give me greater responsibility.
If You grant authority, give me greater compassion.
If You grant wealth, give me greater generosity.
If You grant knowledge, give me greater patience with others.
If You grant recognition, remind me that every earthly honor eventually passes away.
May whatever legacy I leave ultimately point beyond myself and toward the goodness of God.
Bless my marriage and my family.
Strengthen every bond that is rooted in love, fidelity, mutual respect, and Your holy will.
Protect those whom I love.
Give us patience with one another, kindness toward one another, forgiveness when necessary, and gratitude for the time You permit us to share.
May our home never be ruled by fear, hostility, resentment, pride, or division.
May Christ remain at its center.
Bless Your Holy Catholic Church, Lord.
Protect our Holy Father, our bishops, priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters, seminarians, missionaries, catechists, and faithful laity throughout the world.
Strengthen priests who are weary.
Encourage seminarians discerning their vocation.
Protect religious communities.
Console persecuted Christians.
Bring wandering Catholics home.
Heal divisions within the Church.
Call sinners to repentance.
Strengthen families.
Protect children.
Defend the dignity of human life from conception until natural death.
Give Your Church courage to proclaim truth with charity and charity without compromising truth.
Lord, bless the Knights of Columbus throughout the world.
Through the intercession of Blessed Michael McGivney, strengthen every brother Knight in the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
Make us men of prayer before we are men of programs.
Make us servants before we seek recognition.
Make us defenders of the vulnerable.
Make us faithful husbands, fathers, brothers, parishioners, and citizens.
May our councils strengthen parishes, support priests, defend families, care for widows and orphans, assist those in need, and demonstrate through concrete acts that Christian charity remains alive in the world.
Keep us united where disagreement might divide us.
Give us humility when personalities clash.
Give us wisdom in leadership.
Give us generosity in service.
And never allow position, title, recognition, or status to become more important than the mission You have entrusted to us.
Bless the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the lonely, the elderly, the forgotten, the imprisoned, the refugee, the widow, the orphan, and all those who believe that no one sees their suffering.
Remind them, Lord, that You see them.
Move Your people to become instruments of Your mercy.
Protect the innocent.
Defend those who cannot defend themselves.
Give courage to those who work for justice.
Teach us to recognize the image and likeness of God in every human person.
Bless also the animals and all of creation entrusted to human stewardship. Deliver creatures from unnecessary cruelty and neglect. Give humanity greater compassion and responsibility toward the world You created and called good.
Bless those who have helped me throughout my life.
Reward those who prayed for me when I did not know they were praying.
Reward those who encouraged me.
Reward those who taught me.
Reward those whose kindness appeared precisely when I needed it.
And, Lord, I also place before You those who have hurt, rejected, misunderstood, disappointed, opposed, or spoken against me.
I refuse to make bitterness my inheritance.
I surrender them to You.
I do not ask for vengeance.
I ask for freedom.
Free my heart from resentment.
Free my mind from replaying old injuries.
Free my future from being governed by yesterday’s wounds.
Grant them whatever grace they need, and grant me sufficient grace to continue forward peacefully.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church, pray for me.
Cover my household beneath your maternal mantle.
Lead me continually to your Divine Son.
Teach me your humility.
Teach me your obedience.
Teach me your courage.
Teach me to say with sincerity:
“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.”
Our Lady, when I become impatient, remind me of Nazareth.
When I suffer, remind me of Calvary.
When circumstances appear hopeless, remind me of the Resurrection.
When I struggle to understand God’s plan, remind me that faith does not require seeing the entire road before taking the next faithful step.
Saint Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer, pray for me.
Teach me quiet strength, responsible leadership, diligent work, protection of family, humility, and obedience to God.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in spiritual battle. Protect us against the wickedness and snares of the devil. By the power of God, guard our minds, our homes, our families, our vocations, and our service to Christ.
All holy angels and saints of God, pray for us.
Father, when the day eventually comes that my earthly work is finished, may I not measure my life merely by what I owned, what I accomplished, what titles I carried, what organizations knew my name, or what monuments human beings remember.
Instead, may I ask:
Did I love God?
Did I remain faithful?
Did I serve others?
Did I defend what was right?
Did I forgive?
Did I use my gifts responsibly?
Did I help someone who could never repay me?
Did I leave behind greater faith, greater charity, greater wisdom, and greater hope?
And when my final earthly hour eventually arrives, may I receive the grace of perseverance and reconciliation with You.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary be near me.
May Saint Joseph intercede for me.
May my guardian angel remain beside me.
May the prayers of the Church accompany me.
And may Jesus Christ receive me into His mercy.
Until that day, Lord, give me work worthy of my abilities, burdens proportionate to Your grace, wisdom sufficient for my responsibilities, courage for every necessary decision, and humility enough always to remember:
I belong to You.
My life belongs to You.
My household belongs to You.
My work belongs to You.
My talents belong to You.
My accomplishments belong to You.
My possessions belong to You.
My present belongs to You.
My future belongs to You.
My legacy belongs to You.
Therefore, I will not fear tomorrow.
I will not worship yesterday.
I will not surrender today’s peace to circumstances beyond my control.
I will pray.
I will discern.
I will work.
I will serve.
I will forgive.
I will persevere.
I will trust.
And when I cannot understand Your plan, I will still say:
Jesus, I trust in You.
When the road is uncertain:
Jesus, I trust in You.
When prayers seem unanswered:
Jesus, I trust in You.
When doors close:
Jesus, I trust in You.
When new doors open:
Jesus, I trust in You.
In prosperity and adversity, recognition and obscurity, companionship and solitude, certainty and uncertainty:
Jesus, I trust in You.
Father, make me holy—not merely successful.
Make me faithful—not merely accomplished.
Make me charitable—not merely respected.
Make me wise—not merely knowledgeable.
Make me courageous without becoming hardened.
Make me disciplined without becoming prideful.
Make me discerning without becoming suspicious.
Make me strong without losing compassion.
Make me ambitious for Your Kingdom above every earthly ambition.
And when I have done everything You have asked of me, give me the humility to return all glory to You.
For from You comes every good gift.
Through You comes every worthy accomplishment.
And to You belongs all glory.
I entrust everything to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
May the Most Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—govern my thoughts, guide my decisions, protect my household, sanctify my work, strengthen my faith, purify my heart, and lead me ultimately into eternal life.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, pray for us.
Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us.
All you holy angels and saints, pray for us.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
